The biggest tourist attraction of the region is literally around the corner. Right next to our camping grounds you’ll find Canal du Nivernais, which serves as the ideal starting point for hiking or relaxing bicycle trips on the veloroute which passes the camping. Or you could spend the day fishing, and explore the Canal by boat. Our reception offers good maps for hiking and cycling. If you have 30 minutes to spare, look at this beautiful film about the canal:

Nice sights to visit are Guédelon, where a castle is constructed using only materials and tools from the middle ages, and the famous abby of Vézelay. Avallon is a medieval city where you can find some nice shops and musea.

For garden lovers there is Le Jardin de Cuy. The garden is designed around a maison forte from the 14th century. The paths through this two hectare sized, contemporary garden lead along fruit trees, a terraced garden with dark leafed plants, a kitchen garden and a cut flower enclosure and there are herbaceous mixed borders around the ancient courtyard.

Close to our campsite you will find various lakes, ideally suited for swimming and enjoying the beach life. Etang de Baye and Etang de Merle are good examples. And if you take off your shoes, you can take a stroll through the shallow waters of the Yonne river, close to our camp site.
