Camping de l’Ardan is situated at the border of Morvan Regionale Nature Park. Here you will find untouched nature with forests, lakes, mountains and babbling brooks, where you can enjoy hiking and cycling. If you are an even sportier type, you will also find many things to your liking. In addition, there are several ancient cities where you can admire medieval architecture.

At the reception we can provide more information about activities in the surrounding area. We are happy to help you plan a cycling or hiking route or lend you hiking and cycling maps.

Canal du Nivernais

The main attraction of the camping is the Canal du Nivernais. The more than 200 year old and 180 km long canal connects St. Léger des Vignes to Auxerre. Parallel to the canal is a nearly 100 km long véloroute for cycling or hiking. Hiking and cycling maps can be borrowd from reception.

Avallon en Vézelay

Avallon and Vézelay are definitely worth a visit. These are two of the oldest and most beautiful towns in the Morvan region. The basilica of Vézelay is especially impressive. If you want to visit a larger city, we recommend Auxerre or Dijon, where you can shop in the old city centres.

The Morvan

The Morvan region abounds in water. There are many activities when it comes to water sports. You can go kayaking and rafting, or you can go jet skiing and flyboarding. There are many possibilities at Lac de Settons and Lac de Pannecière. You can also enjoy the water in a more tranquil way by renting a canoe, paddling past all kinds of sights and ending your trip in Vézelay.

As far as nature is concerned, the Morvan is the place to be. Gorgeous is the Saut de Gouloux waterfall, where you can paddle your feet in the cooling water after a hiking trip. Exquisite is Bibracte, a formerly Gaulish settlement located on the Mont Beuvray, a hill of over 800 meters high. At 901 meters, the Haut-Folin is the highest mountain in the Morvan region. It offers all kinds of possibilities for sports activities. There are countless hiking trails and you can go mountain biking and climbing.
